People & Place

Good things happen when the right people have room to bump into each other.

PEOPLE + PLACE

Fentenfenna is home to an ever-changing mixture of people, businesses, skills and ideas.

Some of us live here. Some work here. Some are building businesses. Others come to learn, gain experience, collaborate or lend a hand.

What makes it interesting isn't just who's here. It's what starts to happen between us.

A place to make things possible.

Fentenfenna is a working farm.

Land, buildings, workshops, growing space, equipment and workspace give people somewhere to turn ideas into something tangible.

But the most useful resource is often less obvious: other people.

Put different skills, experience and equipment in the same place and things begin to connect.

There's no typical Fentenfenna person.

The people and enterprises based here do very different things, and that's rather the point.

Sharing a place means people naturally start sharing other things too.

Someone has a machine somebody else needs. Someone knows how to solve a problem. A conversation turns into a piece of work. A tenant recommends another tenant. Skills cross over. Ideas get better.

We don't programme all of those collaborations.

Mostly, we create the conditions and let people get on with it.

Sometimes 1 + 1 makes something completely unexpected.

Some people come to Fentenfenna to work. Others come to learn, gain experience, build confidence, try something new or simply spend time somewhere useful.

We welcome people through work experience, internships, volunteering and partnerships with other organisations.

Being part of a real working place means there are lots of ways to contribute, and lots of things to discover you might be good at.

We've welcomed interns and work-experience placements from Newquay Orchard and are developing opportunities with other partners across Cornwall.

Not everyone arrives here knowing what comes next.
