Fentenfenna Food Hub

The Fentenfenna Food Hub simply exists to contribute towards a resilient food system for Cornwall.

Reducing food waste

Food waste is a global issue, with over a third of all food produced going to waste, over 1.3 billion tonnes, contributing between 8-10% of all global emissions. In the UK nearly 10 million tonnes of food is wasted every year, with over 10% coming straight from source on farms.

Cornwall has been a leader in emergency food supply for many years, particularly through the Covid 19 lockdown response. However, the county has lacked a centralised infrastructure hub to support wider distribution.

Fentenfenna Food Hub is designed to be just that.

We salvage and distribute over 200 tonnes of food to charities and community organisations who support 10s of thousands of people across Cornwall every year.
