FENTENFENNA FARM · CORNWALL
A small farm with some big ideas.
We're exploring how land, food, enterprise and community can work together to create healthier, more resilient rural places.
Fentenfenna Farm CIC is a community interest company based on a 13-acre working farm in Mid-Cornwall.
Fentenfenna is a working farm and a place for trying things. We grow food, support local enterprise, create opportunities for people, make good things from food that would otherwise go to waste, restore nature and work with others to see what happens when all those things connect.
WHAT WE DO
FOOD
Growing, recovering and processing food, while connecting local producers with people and markets.
PEOPLE
Opportunities to learn, gain experience, volunteer and contribute through a real working farm.
ENTERPRISE
Land, workspace, shared facilities and support for rural businesses to develop and collaborate.
NATURE
Planting trees, improving habitats and soil, and using land and resources with care.
The farm has changed through practical work, investment, volunteering and partnerships. These figures show some of what that work has made possible.
The interesting bit is what happens when they connect.
ONE IDEA IN PRACTICE
GREAT DRINKS. BETTER STORY.
Wasted Apple turns surplus and unwanted apples into cider and juice. Based here at Fentenfenna, it connects orchard owners, growers, volunteers and production partners, creating value from fruit that might otherwise go unused. Its profits support the wider work of Fentenfenna Farm CIC.
PEOPLE + PLACE
Fentenfenna is made by the people in it.
The farm is home to an evolving mixture of growers, makers, businesses, interns, work-experience placements, partners and people with an extraordinary range of skills.
They share growing spaces, workshops, equipment, food infrastructure, knowledge and ideas. And increasingly, unexpected collaborations are happening simply because people are here together, turning those connections into practical work.
The BIGGER IDEA.
One place. A bigger idea.
Fentenfenna is where we're testing what happens when food, health, community, enterprise and the environment are approached as one connected system rather than separate problems.
HOW DID WE GET HERE?
Fentenfenna didn't start with a farm.
The story began fifteen years ago with an idea about community, nature and opportunity. It grew through Newquay Orchard, the restoration of a council farm and the practical work that connects Fentenfenna today.
